Our Firestone DriveRite systems are the same package as offered by most of the UK camper van accessory stores. Yes they are advertised under various names, but at the end of the day, most are Firestone!
The company who fabricate these, is Firestone, the same people who make the tyres! These kits are manufactored in the USA.
As with all our semi air suspension systems, pneumatic assistors greatly increase straight-line stability on motorways, vigorous cross winds and when being over-taken by beefy freight. They make it possible for you to, stiffen the rear suspension by increasing the air pressure alleviating any droopyness of the rear suspension due to flawed or over loading, and allowing the vehicles ride height to be kept level. Van lurching on roundabouts and when manoeuvring is also depreciated and the vehicle ride is much improved.
Most people fit air assist suspension units to restore the rear ride height of their motorhome. Unlike normal vans, motorhomes are always fully laden, especially if extra rear racks are fitted to carry bikes etc. so the rear springs do sag after a while. These systems will pick up the ride height, however everyone who has had air support suspension systems fitted to their vehicles all say they are also impressed with the added perk of softer ride, softer cornering and being decreasingly prone to side on winds and buffering by jumbo heavy goods vehicles.. |
