Our Firestone DriveRite systems are the same system as sold by most of the UK camper accessory garages. Yes pneumatic air assistance kits are merchandised under various names, but at the end of the day, most are Firestone!
The body who make these, is Firestone, the same people who make the tires! These kits are manufactored in the USA.
As with all our semi air suspension systems, they greatly increase straight-approach stability on motorways, sturdy cross winds and when being overtaken by heavy freight trucks. Pneumatic air assitance enable you to, firm up the rear suspension by increasing the air pressure alleviating any slouching of the rear suspension due to incorrect or over loading, and allowing the vehicles ride height to be kept level. Motorhome roll on roundabouts and even when turning is also reduced and the general ride is much improved.
Some people fit air assisted suspension units to restore the rear ride height of their motorhome. Unlike usual vans, campes are always fully laden, especially if additional rear end racks are fitted to carry bikes etc. so the rear springs do sag after a while. These units do restore the driving height, however everyone who has had air support suspension systems fitted to their vehicles all say they are also overwhelmed with the new benefits of improved ride, improved cornering and being lesser prone to cross winds and buffering by large lorries.. |
