Our Firestone DriveRite systems are the same system as offered by most of the UK camper van accessory garage. Yes they are advertised by various names, but at the end of the day, some are Firestone!
The company who make these, is Firestone, the same firm who construct the tyres! These kits are manufactored in the USA.
As with all our semi air suspension systems, they greatly increase straight-line driving stability on motorways, hardy cross winds and when being over taken by big vehicles. They enable you to, stiffen the rear end suspension by increasing the air pressure alleviating any drooping of the rear suspension due to incorrect or over loading, and allowing the freight trucks ride height to be kept level. Body roll on roundabouts and while manoeuvring is also decreased and the general driving is much better.
Some firm fit air assisted suspension systems to restore the rear driving height of their motorhome. Dis-similarly normal vans, camper vans are eternally fully full, especially if additional rear bike frames are fitted to carry bikes etc. so the rear springs do sag after a while. These units bring about restore the ride height, however everyone who has had air assisted suspension systems fitted to their vehicles all say pneumatic assistors are mainly impressed with the added benefits of improved ride, restored cornering and being less prone to side winds and buffering by large trucks.. |
