Our Firestone DriveRite systems are the same system as offered by most of the UK motorhome component garage. Yes pneumatic air kits are advertised by different names, but at the end of the day, most are Firestone!
The company who make these, is Firestone, the same people who make the tyres! These kits are created in the USA.
As with all our semi air suspension systems, they very much increase straight-line stability on motorways, strong cross winds and when being over taken by long artics. They enable you to, stiffen the rear suspension by increasing the air pressure alleviating any droping of the rear suspension due to incorrect or over loading, and allowing the vehicles ride height to be kept constant. Body roll on roundabouts and when turning is also decreased and the general driving is much improved.
Most people fit air assisted suspension units to restore the rear ride height of their motorhome. Unlike normal vans, caravanettes are always fully laden, especially if accessory rear racks are aided to carry bikes etc. so the rear springs do sag after a spell. These units will make good the running height, however everyone who has had air assisted suspension units fitted to their vehicles all say pneumatic air assitance kits are also impressed with the added benefits of improved traveling, comfy cornering and being less prone to side on winds and buffering by large lorries.. |
