Our Firestone DriveRite units are the same system as offered by most of the UK motorhome accessory stores. Yes they are marketed under differing brands, but at the end of the day, most are Firestone!
The body who manufacture these, is Firestone, the same people who make the tires! These kits are made in the USA.
As with all our semi air suspension units, they considerably increase straight-line stability on motorways, strong cross winds and when being overtaken by heavy freight trucks. They enable you to, stiffen the rear suspension by increasing the air pressure alleviating any sagging of the rear suspension due to improper or over loading, and allowing the artics ride height to be kept level. Vehicle roll on roundabouts and when cornering is also curtailed and the general ride is much improved.
Most people fit air assisted suspension units to put back the rear ride height of their motorhome. Unlike normal trucks, motorhomes are always fully laden, especially if additional back end racks are fitted to carry bikes etc. so the rear springs do sag after a while. These units bring about restore the ride height, never the less everyone who has had air assisted suspension systems upgraded to their vehicles all say they are also impressed with the added benefits of revived ride, improved manoeuvring and being less prone to side winds and buffering by large heavy goods vehicles.. |
