Our Firestone DriveRite packages are the same system as offered by some of the UK caravanette accessory workshop. Yes they are marketed by various names, but at the end of the day, most are Firestone!
The company who generate these, is Firestone, the same people who assemble the tyres! These kits are manufactored in the USA.
As with all our semi air suspension units, pneumatic air assistance greatly increase straight-line stability on motorways, strong cross winds and when being overtaken by heavy vehicles. They enable you to, strengthen the rear suspension by increasing the air pressure alleviating any sinking of the rear suspension due to incorrect or over loading, and allowing the vehicles ride height to be maintained level. Motorhome lurch on roundabouts and when cornering is also reduced and the general ride is much improved.
Most people fit air assisted suspension units to restore the rear ride height of their motorhome. Unlike normal vans, motorhomes are invariably fully laden, especially if additional back end racks are fitted to support bikes etc. so the rear springs do sag after a while. These units bring about restore the ride height, however people who has had air supported suspension systems fitted to their busses all say Semi air suspensions are also impressed with the added benefits of improved ride, improved manoeuvring and being less prone to side winds and buffering by jumbo lorries.. |
