Our Firestone DriveRite systems are the same kit as offered by most of the UK motorhome accessory stores. Yes they are merchandised under various pseudonyms, but at the end of the day, most are Firestone!
The body who put together these, is Firestone, the same people who make the tyres! These kits are manufactored in the USA.
As with all our semi air suspension kits, pneumatic air assitance greatly increase straight-line stability on motorways, strong cross winds and when being overtaken by big vehicles. They enable you to, stiffen the rear end suspension by intensifying the air pressure abating any sagging of the back end suspension due to abominable or excess loading, and allowing the freight ride height to be set level. Body roll on roundabouts and when turning is moreover limited and the general traveling is much better quality.
Some people fit air support suspension units to improve the rear travel height of their motorhome. Unlike normal vans, motorhomes are always abuntantly laden, especially if spare rear racks are fitted to carry bikes etc. so the back end springs do sag after a while. These units will restore the driving height, however everyone who has had air assisted suspension systems fitted to their vehicles all say pneumatic air assistance are also impressed with the added improvements of revived ride, improved cornering and being lesser susceptible to side winds and buffering by large lorries.. |
