Our Firestone DriveRite systems are the same arrangement as retailed by most of the UK motorhome accessory stores. Yes pneumatic air assitance are advertised under various names, but at the end of the day, most are Firestone!
The company who make these, is Firestone, the same people who make the tyres! These kits are manufactored in the USA.
As with all our semi air suspension units, they hugely increase straight-line stability on motorways, strong cross winds and when being overtaken by beefy vehicles. They enable you to, stiffen the rear suspension by increasing the air pressure making good any sagging of the rear end suspension due to incorrect or over the top loading, and allowing the vehicles running height to be kept even. Body lurching on corners and when cornering is increasingly curtailed and the general ride is greatly improved.
Most people fit air assisted suspension units to restore the rear ride height of their motor factor. Unlike normal vans, motorhomes are forevermore fully laden, especially if additional rear frames are upgraded to carry bikes etc. so the back end springs do sag after a bit. These units will restore the ride height, but everyone who has had air support suspension systems fitted to their lorries all say they are also impressed with the added benefits of improved ride, improved cornering and being less prone to cross winds and buffering by large artics.. |
