Our Firestone DriveRite systems are the same system as supplied by most of the UK motorhome accessory stores. Yes they are retailed under various names, but at the end of the day, most are Firestone!
The company who make these, is Firestone, the same people who produce the tyres! These kits are made in the USA.
As with all our semi air suspension systems, they greatly build-up straight-line stability on motorways, strong cross winds and when being overtaken by heavy freight. They enable you to, stiffen the rear suspension by increasing the air pressure alleviating any sagging of the rear suspension due to flawed or over loading, and allowing the vehicles ride height to be kept level. Body roll on roundabouts and when cornering is also depreciated and the vehicle ride is much improved.
Most people fit air assisted suspension units to restore the rear ride height of their motorhome. Unlike common vans, caravanettes are forevermore fully laden, above all if optional rear racks are fitted to carry bikes etc. so the rear springs do sag after a bit. These units will restore the ride height, however each person who has had air assist suspension systems equipped to their vehicles all say they are also impressed with the greater rewards of softer ride, improved cornering and being decreasingly prone to side winds and buffering by large lorries.. |
