Our Firestone DriveRite systems are the same arrangement as offered by most of the UK motorhome accessory garages. Yes pneumatic air assistance kits are marketed under various names, but at the end of the day, most are Firestone!
The company who make these, is Firestone, the same firm who build the tyres! These kits are manufactored in the USA.
As with all our semi air suspension systems, pneumatic air assit kits greatly increase straight-line driving stability on motorways, strong cross winds and when being over-taken by heavy vehicles. They enable you to, firm up the rear suspension by adding the air pressure alleviating any sagging of the rear suspension due to incorrect or over loading, and allowing the vehicles ride height to be set level. Van roll on roundabouts and when cornering is also depreciated and the general ride is much improved.
Most firm fit air assisted suspension units to restore the back ride height of their motorhome. Unlike normal vans, camper vans are always fully burdened, mainly if additional rear racks are upgraded to carry bikes etc. so the rear springs do sag after a while. These systems will restore the traveling height, however any person who has had air assisted suspension systems fitted to their vehicles all say they are also impressed with the added reward of improved ride, improved manoeuvring and being less obvious to side winds and buffering by large lorries.. |
