The PneurideŽ range of semi air suspension systems are supplied by Dunlop Systems and Components. Air springs and bellows have been designed, developed and manufactured by this company for about than half a century. During this time more than 10 million parts have been sold to a variable wide range of vehicle manufacturers.
The PneurideŽ semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way the fitting should be well within the capacity of a confident 'do it yourself' person. The total sum of parts has been minimised and no special gear are required.
Semi air suspension systems enable the lorry and bus ride height to be set level. They somewhat increase stability, in particular during high-speed motorway travel - in a straight-line, when battered by hardy cross winds and whilst being overtaken by heavy lorries. At reduced speeds they significantly reduce body roll on roundabouts and when cornering.
A rear suspension equipped bring forth a semi air suspension kit can be stiffened only by increasing the air pressure in the bellows. This alleviates any sagging of the rear suspension due to imbalanced or excessive loading.
Many firm fit semi air suspension units to restore the rear ride height of a motorhome to its original level. Unlike vans, motorhomes are always fully burdened. This is explicitly true if additional back end racks are up-graded to carry velocipedes etc. As a consiquence of of constant full loading, steel springs tend to sag after a bit. Semi air suspension systems effectively counter the tendency.
