The PneurideŽ range of semi air suspension kits are supplied by Dunlop Systems and Components. Air spring and bellows have been designed, developed and manufactured by this company for more than half a century. For this time more than 10 million parts have been sold to a variable wide array of bus and truck manufacturers.
The Dunlop Pneuride semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way any fitting should be well in the scope of a self reliant 'do it yourself' owner. The total number of parts has been minimised and no special gear are required.
Semi air suspension systems enable the lorry and bus ride height to be kept even. They greatly increase stability, in particular during high-speed motorway rides - in a straight-line, when buffeted by strong cross winds and whilst being overtaken by big freight. At lower speeds they very much reduce body roll on corners and when cornering.
A rear suspension fitted with a semi air suspension system can be stiffened simply by increasing the air pressure in the bellows. This alleviates any drooping of the rear suspension due to imbalanced or unnecessary loading.
Many people fit semi air suspension units to bring back the rear ride height of a motorhome to its original level. Unlike cars, motorhomes are eternally thouroughly laden. This is especially indisputable if additional rear racks are fitted to carry bikes etc. As a consiquence of of constant full loading, steel springs tend to sag after a while. Semi air suspension units compently counter this tendency.
