The PneurideŽ class of semi air suspension accessories are supplied by Dunlop Systems and Components. Air springs and bellows have been designed, developed and manufactured by this company for more than half a century. During this time more than 10 million parts have been sold to a very wide range of vehicle manufacturers.
The PneurideŽ semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way that fitting should be well within the scope of a confident 'do it yourself' person. The total number of parts has been minimised and no special tools are required.
Semi air suspension systems enable the vehicle driving height to be maintained level. Pneuride air assistance greatly increase stability, in particular during high-speed motorway travel - in a straight-line, when buffeted by strong sideway winds and whilst being overtaken by heavy vehicles. At light speeds they significantly reduce body sway on roundabouts and when cornering.
A rear suspension aided with a semi air suspension system can be stiffened simply by increasing the air pressure in the bellows. This aids any sagging of the back end suspension due to imbalanced or excessive loading.
Many people fit semi air suspension units to put back the back end ride height of a motorhome to its original even. Unlike vans, motorhomes are always thouroughly weighed down. This is especially true if additional rear racks are fitted to carry two-wheelers etc. As a result of constant full loading, steel spring tend to sag after a while. Semi air suspension units effectively counter this aspect.
