The PneurideŽ range of semi air suspension systems are engineered by Dunlop Systems and Components. Air springs and bellows have been constructed, developed and manufactured by this company for more than half a century. During this duration about than 10 million parts have been sold to a considerable wide range of vehicle manufacturers.
The PneurideŽ semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way that fitting should be well within the scope of a confident 'do it yourself' person. The total chiffre of parts has been minimised and no special tools are required.
Semi air suspension systems facilitate the automobile ride height to be kept level. Pneuride air assistance decidedly increase stability, in particular during high-speed motorway travel - in a straight-line, when buffeted by strong cross winds and whilst being over-taken by big artics. At lower speeds Semi air suspensions significantly reduce body swaying on roundabouts and when cornering.
A rear suspension upgraded with a semi air suspension system can be stiffened werely by increasing the air pressure in the bellows. This alleviates any sagging of the rear suspension due to imbalanced or excessive loading.
Many people fit semi air suspension units to bring back the rear ride height of a motorhome to its original consistant. Unlike vans, motorhomes are invariably fully laden. This is explicitly true if additional rear racks are fitted to carry velocipedes etc. As a result of continual full loading, steel springs tend to sag after a while. Semi air suspension units effectively counter the drooping.
