The PneurideŽ array of semi air suspension systems are designed by Dunlop Kits and Components. Air springs and bellows have been designed, developed and manufactured by this company for more than half a century. During this time more than 10 million parts have been dispersed on to a very comprehensive array of vehicle fabricators.
The PneurideŽ semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way that fitting should be well attained within the consideration of a confident 'do it yourself' person. The total number of parts has been minimised and no special tools are required.
Semi air suspension systems enable the lorry and bus ride height to be set level. They greatly increase stability, in particular during high-speed motorway travel - in a straight-line, when blown around by strong cross winds and whilst being over taken by heavy vehicles. At lower speeds they significantly lower body roll on roundabouts and when cornering.
A rear suspension fitted with a semi air suspension system can be stiffened effortlessly by increasing the air pressure in the bellows. This rectifies any sagging of the rear suspension due to imbalanced or excessive loading.
Many people fit semi air suspension units to restore the rear travel height of a motorhome to its original level. Unlike vans, motorhomes are eternally greatly laden. This is predominantly true if additional back end racks are retrofitted to carry bikes etc. As a result of constant full loading, steel springs tend to sag after a while. Semi air suspension units effectively counter this tendency.
