The PneurideŽ array of semi air suspension kits are made by Dunlop Systems and Components. Air springs and bellows have been designed, developed and manufactured by this company for still more than half a century. During the time nearly than 10 million parts have been sold to a considerable active array of vehicle manufacturers.
The Dunlop PnuerideŽ semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way that fitting should hopefully be well within the scope of a self confident 'do it yourself' person. The total number of parts has been minimised and no special tools are required.
Semi air suspension systems lift the automitive ride height to be kept level. Pneuride air kits greatly build-up stability, in particular Amidst high-momentum motorway travel - in a straight-line, when buffeted by strong cross winds and whilst being overtaken by heavy vehicles. At lower speeds they significantly reduce body roll on roundabouts and when cornering.
A rear suspension fitted bring forth a semi air suspension system can be hardened simply by increasing the air pressure in the bellows. This alleviates any sagging of the rear suspension due to imbalanced or extreme loading.
Many people fit semi air suspension systems to restore the rear driving height of a motorhome to its original on the level. Unlike vans, motorhomes are always fully laden. This is predominantly true if additional rear racks are fitted to carry bikes etc. As a result of constant full loading, steel springs tend to sag after a while. Semi air suspension units effectively counter this tendency.
