The PneurideŽ range of semi air suspension systems are supplied by Dunlop Systems and Components. Air cushion and bellows have been designed, developed and manufactured by the company for more than half a century. During this period more than 10 million parts have been sold to a variable far ranging range of vehicle manufacturers.
The Dunlop Pneuride semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way any fitting should be well within the range of a self-relient 'do it yourself' gent. The total ordinal of parts has been minimised and no special equipment are required.
Semi air suspension systems enable the bus and truck ride height to be kept constant. They awfully increase stability, in particular during high-velocity motorway travel - in a straight-route, while buffeted by strong cross winds and whilst being overtaken by heavy vehicles. At lower speeds Semi air suspensions significantly lower body roll on round abouts and while manoeuvring.
A rear suspension fitted with a semi air suspension system can be stiffened simply by increasing the air pressure in the bellows. This alleviates any sagging of the rear suspension due to imbalanced or excessive loading.
Many people fit semi air suspension units to restore the rear ride height of a motorhome to its 'as new' level. Unlike cars, motorhomes are invariably thouroughly laden. This is especially indisputable if additional rear bike racks are fitted to carry bikes etc. As a consiquence of of constant full loading, steel springs tend to sag after a while. Semi air suspension kits effectively counter this afliction.
