The PneurideŽ range of semi air suspension systems are set up by Dunlop Systems and Components. Air spring and bellows have been designed, developed and manufactured by this company for more than half a century. During this occasion more than 10 million parts have been sold to a considerable wide range of vehicle manufacturers.
The Dunlop PnuerideŽ semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way any fitting should be well attained within the scope of a confident 'do it yourself' person. The total number of parts has been minimised and no special tools are required.
Semi air suspension systems enable the truck and bus ride height to be kept level. Air springs greatly increase stability, in particular during high-speed motorway travel - in a straight-line, when buffeted by strong cross winds and whilst being overtaken by formidable busses. At reduced speeds they significantly reduce body roll on round abouts and when manoeuvring.
A back end suspension aided with a semi air suspension system can be stiffened solely by increasing the air pressure in the bellows. This alleviates any sinking of the rear suspension due to imbalanced or excessive loading.
Many people fit semi air suspension units to restore the rear driving height of a motorhome to its original even. Unlike vans, motorhomes are always fully laden. This is expressly accurate if extra rear racks are fitted to hold bikes etc. As a result of perminant full loading, steel springs tend to sag after a while. Semi air suspension units effectively counter this aspect.
