The PneurideŽ range of semi air suspension systems are set up by Dunlop Systems and Components. Air cushion and bellows have been designed, developed and fabricated by this company for more than halve a century. All the time more than 10 million parts have been sold to a very comprehensive range of vehicle manufacturers.
The PneurideŽ semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way the fitting should be well within the capacity of a confident 'do it yourself' person. The comprehensive number of pieces has been minimised and no special apparatus are required.
Semi air suspension systems enable the vehicle ride height to be kept level. They greatly increase stability, in particular during high-velocity motorway rides - in a straight-line, when buffeted by strong cross winds and whilst being overtaken by huge vehicles. At lower speeds they some what reduce body roll on round abouts and while cornering.
A rear suspension fitted with a semi air suspension system can be stiffened simply by increasing the air pressure in the bellows. This alleviates any sagging of the rear suspension due to imbalanced or excessive loading.
Bags of people fit semi air suspension units to improve the rear traveling height of a motorhome to its original on the level. Unlike vans, motorhomes are eternally entirely weighed down. This is especially true if spare back racks are fitted to support bikes etc. As a result of habitual full loading, steel springs tend to sag after a while. Semi air suspension units completely counter this tendency.
