The PneurideŽ range of semi air suspension systems are manufactured by Dunlop Systems and Components. Air springs and bellows have been designed, developed and manufactured by this company for still more than half a century. During this time more than 10 million parts have been sold to a very far and wide range of vehicle manufacturers.
The PneurideŽ semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way that fitting should be well within the scope of a masterly 'do it yourself' person. The total number of pieces has been minimised and no special tools are required.
Semi air suspension systems lift the vehicle ride height to be kept on the level. They greatly build up stability, in particular during high-momentum motorway rides - in a straight-line, at the same time battered by hearty sideway winds and whilst being over taken by huge artics. At lower speeds they significantly reduce body roll on round abouts and while cornering.
A rear suspension up-graded offer a semi air suspension system can be stiffened just by increasing the air PSI in the bellows. This rectifies any dropping of the back suspension due to imbalanced or excessive loading.
Many people fit semi air suspension units to restore the back ride height of a motorhome to its original level. Unlike mini busses, motorhomes are always fully laden. This is chiefly correct if additional rear racks are fitted to carry bikes etc. As a result of constant full loading, steel springs usually to sag after a while. Semi air suspension units effectively counter the tendency.
