The PneurideŽ range of semi air suspension systems are engineered by Dunlop Accessories and Components. Air springs and bellows have been designed, developed and manufactured by this company for more than half a century. During this time still more than 10 million items have been sold to a variable wide range of automobile manufacturers.
The Dunlop Pneuride semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way that attaching should be well within the scope of a self confident 'do it yourself' person. The total folio of parts has been minimised and no special tools are required.
Semi air suspension systems enable the vehicle ride height to be kept constant. They greatly increase stability, in particular Amidst high-speed motorway travel - in a straight-line, even when buffeted by strong cross winds and whilst being overtaken by heavy vehicles. At lower speeds they accordingly reduce motorhome roll on roundabouts and when cornering.
A rear end suspension fitted uncover a semi air suspension system can be stiffened simply by increasing the air P.S.I. in the bellows. This alleviates any sagging of the rear suspension due to imbalanced or excessive loading.
Many people fit semi air suspension units to restore the rear ride height of a motorhome to its original constant. Unlike vans, motorhomes are always fully laden. This is especially kosher if additional rear racks are fitted to carry bikes etc. As a result of constant ample loading, steel springs tend to sag after a spell. Semi air suspension units completely counter the tendency.
