The PneurideŽ class of semi air suspension systems are supplied by Dunlop Systems and Components. Air springs and bellows have been designed, developed and manufactured by this company for more than half a century. For this time more than 10 million parts have been dispersed on to a very wide range of vehicle manufacturers.
The PneurideŽ semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way the fitting should be well within the scope of a confident 'do it yourself' man. The total emblem of parts has been minimised and no special tools are required.
Semi air suspension systems enable the transport ride height to be kept constant. They decidedly increase stability, in particular during high-momentum motorway driving - in a straight-line, even when buffeted by strong crossing winds and whilst being overtaken by heavy freight. At lower speeds they significantly reduce body swaying on roundabouts and when cornering.
A rear suspension fitted with a semi air suspension system can be stiffened simply by increasing the air pressure in the bellows. This lessens any sagging of the rear end suspension due to imbalanced or excessive loading.
Many people fit semi air suspension units to improve the rear end driving height of a motorhome to its original even. Unlike vans, motorhomes are always fully laden. This is especially true if additional rear racks are rigged to carry bikes etc. As a result of habitual full loading, steel springs tend to sag after a while. Semi air suspension units entirely counter this tendency.
