The PneurideŽ range of semi air suspension systems are supplied by Dunlop Systems and Components. Air cushion and bellows have been designed, developed and manufactured by this company for more than half a century. During this time more than 10 million items have been sent out to a very wide array of vehicle manufacturers.
The Dunlop Pneuride semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way that fitting should be well within the domain of a self assured 'do it yourself' person. The total sign of parts has been minimised and no special tools are required.
Semi air suspension systems enable the vehicle ride height to be kept level. Pneuride air assit kits enormously increase stability, in particular during high-momentum motorway travel - in a straight-line, when buffeted by strong crossing winds and whilst being over-taken by heavy vehicles. At urban speeds they significantly reduce body lean on roundabouts and when cornering.
A back suspension upgraded with a semi air suspension system can be stiffened solely by increasing the air pressure in the bellows. This sustains any droopiness of the rear suspension due to imbalanced or extreme loading.
Canny people fit semi air suspension units to restore the rear ride height of a motorhome to its original level. Unlike vans, motorhomes are commonly fully laden. This is enormously true if additional rear racks are fitted to carry tricycles etc. As a consiquence of of constant copious loading, steel springs tend to sag after a while. Semi air suspension units effectively counter this problem.
