The Dunlop PnuerideŽ range of semi air suspension systems are supplied by Dunlop Systems and Components. Air bellows and bellows have been designed, developed and manufactured by this company for more than half a century. During this time more than 10 million parts have been sold to a very wide range of vehicle establishments.
The PneurideŽ semi air suspension kits have been designed in such a way that fitting should be well within the scope of a confident 'do it yourself' person. The inclusive number of parts has been minimised and no special gear are required.
Semi air suspension systems enable the lorry and bus ride height to be kept level. They greatly increase stability, in particular Amid high-speed motorway travel - in a straight-line, when buffeted by hardy cross winds and whilst being overtaken by heavy vehicles. At lower speeds they accordingly lower body roll on roundabouts and when cornering.
A rear suspension fitted detect a semi air suspension system can be stiffened simply by increasing the air pressure in the bellows. This alleviates any wilting of the back end suspension due to imbalanced or excessive loading.
Bags of people fit semi air suspension systems to restore the back end ride height of a motorhome to its original level. Unlike vans, motorhomes are always positively laden. This is especially true if additional rear racks are fitted to carry velocipedes etc. As a consiquence of of constant full loading, steel springs tend to sag after a while. Semi air suspension kits effectively counter this tendency.
